On Sunday night just before 1900hrs Bedford Hills units were alerted to a residence on Italy Ave for a reported dryer fire. Within minutes Car's 2031, 2033 and 2034 were responding.

DC 2034 was first on scene and notified 60 control that there was heavy smoke from the house and asked them to dispatch the incident again with the updated info. A BHFD member that lives close by notified the DC that he wasn't able to close the dryer but was able to close the door to the room that it was in.

Engine 199, responding first due was told that there was a hydrant across from the structure and that the fire was believed to be contained to the room that it was in. Once on scene a 1 3/4" attack line was stretched and the engine hooked up to the hydrant.

As the first due members masked up at the front door the second due Engine 198 stretched a dry back up line. As well as performed a size up of the exterior of the building for possible venting.

At this time Car 2031 (Bueti) arrived on scene as well as Car 2033 (Nickson) and assumed command and operations of the incident.

The Squad crew found the seat of the fire and were able to extinguish it quickly with minimal damage other then smoke to the house.

With the fire knocked down crews vented the house and checked for extension. BHFD units remained on scene to assist with lighting for Zone 5 and NYSEG, then released by Command.
