At approximately 23:00 hours on Tuesday October 3rd, the Yorktown Heights Fire Department along with Croton F.A.S. Team was dispatched to a reported dumpster fire with extension to the building on Front Street. Car 2531 arrived on scene shortly after dispatch and immediately transmitted the 10-75 (working fire). Tower Ladder 57 was dispatched on the 10-75 as a first due truck company. The second alarm was transmitted within 10 minutes of the 1st alarm assignment.

First arriving companies were met by a "200x100, 1 story commercial occupancy" with fire showing from the Delta side. Yorktown units quickly secured a positive water source, deployed multiple handlines, knocking down the main body of fire. Tower Ladder 57 arrived on scene 18 minutes after dispatch and immediately set up for roof operations. Crews opened up the exterior fascia and roof in order to reach the stubborn pockets of fire.

Bedford Hills Units cleared the scene at 02:00 Wednesday Morning.

The quick response from the Yorktown Fire Department gave firefighters the upper hand to rapidly and effectively extinguish this commercial fire with minimal fire spread. A great job by all!
