With the delivery of the new Rescue 10, a 2018 Seagrave Marauder II / Non Traditional Walk-in in the coming months, our current Rescue 10, a 1995 International/PL Custom was retired from service and deemed surplus. Rescue 10 has proudly served the residents of the Bedford Hills Fire District and beyond for 22 faithful years. At 19:00 on Monday November 27, Rescue Captain Jon Spano offically placed Rescue 10, Out of Service.

Rescue 10 was sold to the Ashland Fire Department in Greene County, and we wish them many years of happiness with her. We would also like to thank Michael Shaughnessy of Red Fire Truck Sales Inc. who helped to facilitate the deal between us and Ashland.

Rescue 10 was purchased in 1995 and served as our Departments first ever Heavy Rescue, replacing a 1970 International Utility Truck. Until 2011, Rescue 10 served as our primary piece of apparatus for Motor Vehicle Accidents and was the first piece of apparatus the FAS Team operated with before the addition of Tower Ladder 57.

Rescue 10 also provided mobile cascade services for BHFD and beyond. Rescue 10 has responded to over 2,000 incidents while in service ranging from Alarms, Vehicle Fires,Structure Fires and numerous Vehicle Extrication's.

Until the delivery and acceptance of the new Rescue 10, Rescue-Engine 199 and Utility 6 are equipped with a full complement of Rescue Company tools and equipment.

From the Men and Women of the Bedford Hills Fire Department we thank Rescue 10 again for her faithful service and keeping us safe for the past 22 years.

Just want to say thank you to all of the members of Bedford Hills Fire/Rescue. This truck will replace a 1985 rescue that was donated by Onondaga Nation Volunteer Fire Department after we lost everything in our own fire. It served us well but this update is to me, the final piece of the rebuild puzzle. Thank You from the Members of Ashland Fire Department. Chief, Randy Tuttle
