By Assistant Chief Alexander Dennett
January 9, 2019

At 17:09 hours on Wednesday January 9th, the Yorktown Heights Fire Department along with Croton-on-Hudson F.A.S. Team were dispatched to Front Street for a reported bus fire within the structure. Bedford Hills Car 2031, who happened to be in the area at the time of dispatch, reported smoke showing and recommended the 10-75 assignment. Yorktown Car 2531 requested the 10-75 assignment bringing in Tower Ladder 57 for the commercial fire.

Due to the high hazard occupancy and fire conditions, Yorktown Car 2531 requested the 2nd alarm, bringing in additional resources. Quick action by Yorktown Volunteers extinguished the main body of fire within minutes.

Tower Ladder 57 arrived on scene and performed 1st due truck company responsibilities, later assisting with scene lighting. The fire was placed under control by Command and Bedford Hills units cleared the scene at 19:05 hours.

As always, a pleasure to work with the Yorktown Heights Fire Department #SBDSBT
