Last night the Bedford Hills Fire Department participated in the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department's 125th Anniversary Parade.
Hundreds gathered along the streets of Ridgefield to watch Fire Companies from all over Fairfield and Westchester Counties. BHFD was lead by the Tappen Zee Bridgemen and at the end of the evening both came away with Best Overall, Best Senior Musical and Best Rescue Trophies.

Memorial Day, which is observed on the last Monday of May, commemorates the men and women who died while in the military service. In observance of the holiday, many people visit cemeteries and memorials, and volunteers often place American flags on each grave site at national cemeteries. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3:00 p.m. local time.
In recognition of National Police Memorial Week (May 11th - 17th, 2022) members of BHFD had the honor of attending the annual memorial service in memory of Bedford PD Sgt. Thomas Wade, who made the ultimate sacrifice on May 9, 1925.
Sergeant Thomas Wade was killed in a motorcycle crash while on traffic duty with a state motor vehicle inspector on State Route 35.
