Fully Involved First Due Barn Fire

Shortly before 04:30 on Monday May 7th, 2012 Bedford Hills members were alerted to the area of Broad Brook Road and Interstate 684 for a reported structure. Moments after dispatch Bedford Police updated the address to be 135 Broad Brook Road and confirmed a "Working Fire".

Car 2031 (Bueti) and Engine 198 arrived on the scene simultaneously. Chief Bueti established "Broad Brook Road Command" and notified 60 Control he had a 50x20 barn fully involved and requested two mutual aid tankers and a Fas Team.

Once on scene it was determined that only exterior operations were going to be conducted and the Fas Team was released shortly after their arrival. Katonah and Pound Ridge Tankers remained on the scene until around 07:00 assisting with tanker operations.

Bedford Hills units remained on scene until approximately 11:00hrs assisting the Cause and Origin team. Command was terminated and all units returned to quarters without further incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
