BEDFORD HILLS – A fire destroyed the staff quarters at GlenArbor Golf Club in Bedford Hills early Tuesday, displacing three people.

The three staff members living in the building got out "with only the clothing they were wearing," American Red Cross representative Carolyn Sherwin said. The fire broke out about 12:40 a.m. at the quarters on Bedford Center Road. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters from Bedford Hills and several other northern Westchester departments battled the fire. No hydrants were in the area, so water was shuttled in by fire department tanker trucks.

The cause, while still under investigation by fire officials, is deemed not suspicious, Bedford police said. A woman who answered the phone Tuesday at the golf club said they would not be commenting on the fire.

Sherwin said the Red Cross would attend to the staff members' emergency needs and the club would relocate them.

Staff writers Will David and Terence Corcoran contributed information for this report.
