With the delivery of the new Engine 198 a 2014 Seagrave Marauder II in the coming weeks, our current Engine 198, a 1997 Pierce Lance will be retired from service and deemed surplus. Engine 198 has proudly served the residents of the Bedford Hills Fire District and beyond for 17 faithful years.

Engine 198 was purchased in 1997 and served as our 2nd due and water supply engine from 1997-2004. In 2004 it became the first due engine for all in district alarms and remained in that roll until 2011 when the current 199 was purchased and both engines split first due responsibilities. Engine 198 responded to nearly 2,000 incidents while in service ranging from Alarms, Vehicle Fires and numerous Structure Fires.

From the Men and Women of the Bedford Hills Fire Department we thank 198 again for her faithful service and keeping us safe for the past 17 years. We'll always remember the growling of the jake brake as she rolled throught town!
