Just before 11AM on Wednesday the 25th, Bedford Hills FAST along with multiple Mutual Aid companies were dispatched to Goldens Bridge for a reported structure fire in a private dwelling. On the first alarm BHFD responded with 11 FAST members, Car 1 (Lombardo) and Car 2 (Nickson).

Once on scene the crew split into two parts, one to act as a FAST unit and the other went to work. Initially firefighters were faced with heavy fire conditions in the basement extending rapidly to the main floor of the house. Members stretched a second hand line, gained access to, and knocked down the bulk of the fire in the basement as other firefighters worked the main floor.
A second, and a third alarm were transmitted by Command bringing in mutual aid from around the county including Tanker 5 for additional water. As the fire progressed, an additional FAST Team from Mt. Kisco was requested putting the remainder of BHFD members to work. BHFD units remained on scene and were released upon completion of extensive overhaul.

While units were operating in Goldens Bridge, Car 3 (Dennett) and Engine 199 remained on stand by at BHFD to cover our district.
