On Monday February 23rd, 2015 the Bedford Hills Fire Department conducted our annual Ice Rescue training at Howlands Lake in our first due district. Despite the sub-freezing temperatures nearly 40 members from Bedford Hills, Bedford Village and Yorktown Heights participated. Members re-familiarized ourselves with the Preach,Throw, Row, Go tactic of Ice Rescue. Members of the Yorktown Heights Fire Department Water Rescue Team acted as the safety officers for the the duration of the training. For nearly two hours members ran through a variety of scenarios and evolution's.

Due to the extremely cold temperatures EMS and rehab was provided by the Katonah Bedford Hills Ambulance Corps and Westchester EMS.
