At 12:04P on May 9, 2015, BHFD was dispatched to KASHO at 165 Haines Road for an unknown type fire. Car 2031 (Lombardo) and Car 2033 (Dennett) were on the road within a minute of dispatch and Car 2031 was on scene at 12:06P. Upon arrival, Car 2031 had visible fire showing from the exterior of Building L. He transmitted a 10-75 bringing the Mt. Kisco FAST Team and EMS. In addition, he requested four (4) tankers to be added to the box, as the municipal water supply stops at the entrance to the property, as well as Somers Fire Department Rehab unit. Tanker 5 was first due and stretched two lines and extinguished the exterior fire as well as the fire that extended into one of the apartments on the second floor. Tower Ladder 57 handled roof operations via the bucket. Fire fighting operations were hampered due to the fact that there was only one access to the second floor which was compromised due to the fire. Units quickly laddered the building and gained entry into the second floor by forcing entry via windows. Westchester County Cause and Origin Team was requested to investigate the cause of the fire, which was deemed accidental.
