On Monday August 24th,2015, the Bedford Hills Fire Department hosted a Mutual Aid Water Supply Drill. Utilizing three fill sites and six tankers doing shuttles, we were able to sustain 1000 GPM of water flow with little to no interruption, while flowing two portable master streams, a deck gun and multiple handlines. At the "scene" or "dump site" three portable pools and super siphons were used to transfer water from the pools to the "Attack" Engine. By using multiple Fill Sites there was minimal wait time for the Tankers to fill at the fill site and total turn around time from scene to fill site back to scene was sightly over 15 minuets. Although it isn't bad, there is always room for improvement!

Nearly 70 members from BHFD and Mutual Aid companies participated! In our area of Northern Westchester most departments rely on Rural Water Operations for fire suppression due to the lack of Municipal Water Systems.

We would also like to thank the members for the Mutual Engine and Hose Company #1 for covering our district from the drill site during the duration of the drill.
