Shortly before 07:00, on Friday October 2nd, Tower Ladder 57 was dispatched Pound Ridge for a Working Structure Fire. Although the Truck was unable to access the tight and narrow driveway, the Tower's crew assumed first due truck responsibilities. Tower Ladder 57's crew under the direction of Lt. Matt Van Dorn, split themselves to assist with fire attack, throwing ground ladders, finish a primary and secondary searches.

Once the main body of fire was knocked down, 57's crew assisted in ventilation and checking for extension. The crew of TL-57 was released shortly after 9 am, however then Utility 6 with the 5 inch hose roller was sent to assist PRFD's Engine 112 pickup supply line.

The residents were able to escape the residence without harm, however the family's cat perished in the blaze.

There was a unforeseen disturbance in water being supplied to the scene when a passing motorist decided, on their own, to drive over the Fire Departments supply line and damaging the hose. Fire Hose in the roadway should NEVER, be driven over, EVER!
