This week BHFD has responded to three 10-75's (Working Structure Fires) in surrounding communities bringing our total to 16 responses in the last seven days.

The first 10-75 was located at 11 Patterson Road in Pound Ridge on the early morning hours of Thursday the 19th. Tower Ladder 57 was requested by the Pound Ridge IC, as the First Due Truck Company. Members of TL-57 arrived and assumed those responsibilities while helping to located the seat of the fire and minimize further extension. Also, Utility 6 with the 5" hose roller was requested to assist PRFD in repacking the 5 inch hose.

On Friday morning, November 20th, Engine 198 and Tanker 5 were on a Katonah assignment for a working fire in the basement of a 3-story center hall colonial located at 201 Croton Lake Road. Engine 115 (KFD) and Engine 198 (BHFD) arrived simultaneously and together stretched two 1 3/4 handlines to the basement of the fire building while Tanker 5 fed E-115 and T-6 (KFD). Again, Utility 6 was added to the assignment with the 5" hose roller to assist in repacking the LDH.

Finally, early this afternoon BHFD volunteers left their tables during Thanksgiving Dinner to assist the Croton Falls Fire Department at 1 Baxter Road for another Working Fire. BHFD responded with Tower Ladder 57 and Utility 6, originally the First Due FAS/RIT Company, however prior to arrival were notified they'd be going to work as an additional truck company and assisting Ladder 67 that had the front of the residence. BHFD crews threw multiple ground ladders and preformed vertical and horizontal ventilation of the roof area. The crew of TL-57 was pulled from the roof prior to completing the cuts due to heavy fire in the attic and a master stream was put into operations from Ladder 67. One member from BHFD was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was released shortly after.
