CROTON FALLS - A fast-moving fire that started in a garage and spread to a nearby barn kept firefighters in northern Westchester and Putnam counties busy for several hours Sunday afternoon.

Croton Falls firefighters were dispatched to the location on Hardscrabble Road, just east of Interstate 684 shortly before 2 p.m. The fire also spread to nearby woods, starting a brush fire that burned several acres.

There are no fire hydrants in the area, so water had to be trucked in from a different location. The first arriving firefighters were able to pull out two antique vehicles that were in the garage before it was consumed in flames. There were no reported injuries.
