Vehicle Fire on Saw Mill Parkway

At 17:38 hours on Friday, May 12th, BHFD was dispatched to the Saw Mill River Parkway for a reported a motor vehicle fire. The incident was originally dispatched further south on the parkway within the Mount Kisco Fire District, additional calls updated the location to just south of Green Lane in the Bedford Hills Fire District. Units arrived on scene within 3 minutes of the original dispatch and located a well involved motor vehicle. With the parkway completely closed, Car 2032 (Nickson) advised Bedford Hills units to respond northbound in the southbound lanes from Kisco Avenue. Mount Kisco Engine 104 proceeded northbound and stretched the initial attack line across the grass median. Working together, BHFD and the Mutual Engine and Hose Company extinguished the motor vehicle fire within minutes. The scene was turned over to Westchester County Police and all units cleared the scene at 18:00 hours.
