Just before 12pm on Monday June 12th, Bedford Hills Volunteers were dispatched to a reported vehicle rollover on Guard Hill Road. While responding, 60 Control notified Car 2033 (Dennett) that Bedford PD was on scene and reporting one occupant pinned under the vehicle. Once on Scene Car 2033 established command and updated all incoming apparatus of the confirmed vehicle rollover with one occupants leg under the vehicle. The SUV rolled over onto the drivers side and off of the roadway leaving it very unstable. While Engine 199 and Rescue 10 were responding, Bedford PD and Car 2033 were able to assist all occupants (including the trapped) out of the vehicle. Engine 199 arrived on scene and quickly secured the SUV by attaching the front bumper winch to the frame, stretched a precautionary dry line and assisted with initial patient care. With all occupants out of the vehicle, BHFD members mitigated all hazards and controlled traffic while KBHVAC handled patient care. Once the vehicle was removed from the roadway, the scene was turned over to Bedford PD. Guard Hill Command was terminated and all BHFD units returned to service around 13:30 hours.
