Monday proved to be busy for the Bedford Hills Fire Department as Volunteers answered four alarms in the first due. At 11:15 hours BHFD was dispatched to the Municipal Building for a inside odor of smoke. A small brush fire was located on the exterior of the building in close proximity to a fresh air vent. Thirty minutes later, members handled a Commercial fire alarm at the Glen Arbor Golf Course. At 17:00 hours BHFD was alerted to Interstate 684 Southbound, for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Crews operated on the highway for approximately one hour until all vehicles could be removed. At 18:25 hours the Katonah Fire Department was dispatched to the Saw Mill Parkway for a motor vehicle fire. First arriving KFD units updated the incident location within the Bedford Hills Fire District. BHFD units arrived on scene within 5 minutes of dispatch and quickly extinguished a small engine compartment fire. Members finished out the evening with a forcible entry drill at an acquired structure within the district.
