At approximately 05:40am on Friday November 8th, Yorktown Fire along with the Montrose VA Fire Department’s FASTeam was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Baptist Church Road in the area of Baldwin Road. A single passerby notified 911 of the fire. Upon initial arrival, the first due Engine Company was met with fire throughout the building, and a collapsed roof. Tanker 5 was originally on a relocate assignment to backfill Yorktown Fire Headquarters, however before arriving Tanker 5 was redirected to the scene to fillout the Tanker Taskforce due to the lack of available fire hydrants in the area. While the 5-man Tanker Crew operated in Yorktown, Engine 198 handled a dual response with Bedford Fire Department on the Fox Lane Educational Campus, and later in the day a full assignment operated at the Bedford Hills Community House for an odor investigation. |
