Auto Accident with Extrication on the Interstate

On Monday March 23rd, at 12:18 Bedford Hills FD along with Katonah Bedford Hills VAC and Westchester EMS were dispatched to Interstate 684 for a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment. Upon the arrival of Car 2032 and 45-Medic 1, they located a single vehicle into a tree of the center median with one occupant heavily entrapped.

BHFD crews extricated the occupant from the vehicle and assisted EMS, transferring the patient to the ambulance. Due to the weather and road conditions, as well as multiple companies being committed to the limited access Interstate, one Engine (E115) from Katonah FD and a Rescue (R44) from Bedford Fire Department were placed on standby in their respective quarters.

KBHVAC along with (45-M1) transported the occupant to an area Trauma Center. BHFD remained on scene until released by the New York State Police.
