In light of the current COVID-19 Pandemic and in accordance with State of New York Executive Orders prohibiting large public gatherings, the annual Bedford Hills Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25th is cancelled.

Bedford Hills Fire Department will commemorate Memorial Day this year with brief wreath-laying ceremonies at the World War I Memorial at the Bedford Hills Community House and then the Veterans of Foreign War Memorial in Depot Plaza.
While the ceremonies will be limited to Fire Department personnel only, we will be live streaming the ceremonies on Facebook (Bedford Hills Fire Department) and the Town of Bedford’s Website (www.bedfordny.gov) starting at 9:30AM.

Although we won’t be able to replace the in person experience of the parade and ceremonies, we hope that join us virtually as we honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Please know that our decision to cancel the parade and alter the format of the ceremonies was not taken lightly and was made in accordance with current federal, state and local laws prohibiting the assembly of any spectators at any of the memorials and in conjunction with Supervisor Burdick and the Town Board.

We are in this together – and we will get through this, together.
