On Thursday March 25th, at approximately 14:30 hours, the Bedford Hills Fire Department along with Ladder 39 from Katonah were dispatched to ShopRite for a reported fryer on fire. Car 2033 (McGill) was already on the road and arrived on scene within minutes of dispatch establishing Bedford Road Command. After speaking to the store manager and preforming a quick interior size up, Chief McGill confirmed the active fire in the deli section of the store. Due to the size of the occupancy and the potential for fire spread, Command requested an Engine and Tower Ladder from Mt. Kisco for manpower. Engine 199 arrived on scene, stretched a 300' minuteman pre-connect into the store, as members from Rescue 10 proceeded into the building with additional hand tools. Mutual aid companies met up with the interior crews to assist with fire suppression, search and ventilation. The crew from Engine 198 backed into the scene and was prepared to lay out to the nearest hydrant if needed for a positive water source. The fire was quickly knocked down with multiple dry chemical extinguishers, negative extension was found but a heavy smoke condition remained. Crews began positive ventilation of the fire building, this process was tedious due to limited exterior doors and size of the occupancy. Bedford Road Command deemed the fire under control and placed all units back into service around 16:00 hours.

During the ShopRite Plaza incident, Mini Attack 9, Utility 6, Tanker 5, Bedford Village (M/A stand by co.) and Mt. Kisco responded to an Motor Vehicle Accident, car down an embankment in the area of Croton Lake Rd and Kisco Ave. Mini Attack 9 arrived on scene and quickly deployed their front winch to secure the unstable vehicle, while crews from Utility 6 and Tanker 5 assisted the occupant to safety. Units operated on scene for approximately 1 hours before returning to service at 15:50 hours.
