On Monday January 24th your Bedford Hills volunteers teamed up with the Mutual Engine and Hose Company to drill on Ice Water Rescues. During the drill members donned cold water rescue suits, and practiced saving a victim from the water. Members were able to practice multiple roles that they may have during a water rescue including rescuer, standby rescuer, and linemen who assist in pulling the victim and rescuer from the water.

This drill was held at Howland's Lake in the Bedford Hills Fire District, we would like to thank the members of the Lake Association for allowing us use of this water source. It is an invaluable asset for our volunteers to be able to drill on areas within the first due, it allows us to maintain our operational readiness and provide quick life saving resources to our community.

If you're interested in joining our team stop by the fire house on Monday nights after 6:30pm, or click on the Public Info tab followed by recruitment to print out an application.
