BHFD Teams up with Northeast Squad Concepts for In-service Training

February 28, 2022

On Monday February 28th, Bedford Hills FD Members were joined by Northeast Squad Concepts instructors to perform in-service training on a new tool. The “FAST Board” by FAST Rescue Solutions. Following a lecture session covering the basic operations of the FAST Board, members took turns getting multiple training reps and discovering what applications will work best for BHFD – which is exactly what the FAST Board is all about, Options. @NorthEastSquadConcepts

What is the FAST Board?

The FAST Rescue Board is the ultimate rescue platform designed for maximum versatility and ease of use. Originally designed for Rapid Intervention in firefighter rescue, this system also excels in the fields of Confined Space, Hazardous Materials, Active Shooter Response, and all other areas of patient packaging, extrication, and transport. With the addition of the FAST Flotation Device the FAST Board is setting a new standard for water and ice rescue. Constructed with industry standard webbing and hardware, the innovative rapid packaging features will have your patient packaged and moving in seconds. @https://www.fastrescuesolutions.com/

The Bedford Hills Fire Department was lucky enough to obtain two FAST Boards to better serve our community. That would not have been possible without the ongoing support and generosity of the Stayin’ Alive Charity. Annually since 2017, the Bedford Hills Fire Department has been a gracious recipient of the Stayin’ Alive Charities Grant program. Attaining a wide range of equipment – from a Thermal Imaging Camera, (2) LIFEPAK CR+ AED’s, (6) PETZEL Vertex Best Rescue Helmets and (4) Mustang Ice Rescue Suits.

The purpose of the Stayin’ Alive grant program is to improve and enhance the services provided by and for local volunteer fire departments, EMS and EMT’s. Grants are available to volunteer fire departments, EMS, EMT’s and support services to these entities located within Northern Westchester, NY. @https://stayinalive.org/

We thank the Stayin’ Alive Charity enough, not only for their support of BHFD but for all of the agencies of Northern Westchester County, making it a safer place for its visitors and residents.
