Just before 19:00 on Saturday August 19th, Bedford Hills was dispatched to the Saw Mill River Parkway for a reported head on MVA with pin. The accident was located Northbound at Exit 39 and closed down both lanes of the parkway. With limited access to the scene Bedford PD shut down the exit ramp so all emergency vehicles could enter the parkway the wrong way. Car 2033 assumed command while crews from Engine 199 and Rescue 10 arrived and went to work preforming a door pop to access a patient, stabilizeing vehicles, mitigating fluid spills and assisting with patient care.

KBHVAC responded with three ambulances and transported a total of six patients to local hospitals. Once all patients were transported and cars were removed from the parkway Bedford Hills units were placed back into service.
