T-5 & MA-9 RESPOND TO KATONAH

On April 16 Mini Attack 9 and Tanker 5 were requested mutual aid to 58 Cherry Street in Katonah for a reported large brush fire. While responding Attack 9 and Tanker 5 were redirected to Whitlockville road to attack the fire from the opposite side. Cars 2032 and 2033 were on scene first, followed by Attack 9 and Tanker 5 shortly after. The fire advanced through the back yard of the residence and moved into a neighbor's yard along a steep hill on Whitlockville road. While Katonah attacked the fire on the Cherry street side, Bedford Hills worked the other side with two hand lines and brush equipment. It didn't take long for the two departments to gain the upper hand on the fire and extinguish it. Units remained on scene until 17:30 hours putting out any remaining hot spots, and then returned to service by Katonah command.
