June 24, 2009
Bedford Hills Fire Department pagers were activated at 01:55 on Wednesday June 24 for a reported Rollover with wires down on Bedford Center road in the area of Springhurst road. First arriving Police units advised all incoming Fire Department units that the occupant of the vehicle was out and that there was no pin. After further questioning of the victim it was unclear if there was anyone else in the car at the time of the accident. Car 2033 was first to arrive and asked for both thermal imaging cameras to be brought to the scene. Cars 2032, 2031, Rescue 10, Mini Attack 9 and Engine 198 arrived on scene shortly after. Crews on scene split up and took on the tasks of Searching for any additional victims, Securing the vehicle and assisting KBHVAC with patient care/packaging. After a thorough search with lights and thermal imaging cameras it was determined that the driver had been the only occupant of the car. Once the patient was transported, the car rolled back over onto its wheels and removed from the scene, command was able to turn the scene over to the power company for the pole and wire repair. All Bedford Hills units were cleared from the scene at approximately 03:30.
