By 1st Assistant Chief Joseph Lombardo
September 25, 2013
At approximately 4:02 PM, while driving down Babbitt Road into town, Car 2032 (Lombardo) was flagged down by civilians requesting assistance in the rear of 20 Babbitt Road. Upon investigation, it was determined that a car drove through a fence and was impaled on a stone wall. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were both trapped in the vehicle. Car 2032 immediately transmitted the alarm to 60 Control. Within a minute, Car 2031 (Bueti) arrived on the scene and assumed command. TL-57 was special called by 2032 for additional ground ladders. Upon E-199's arrival, the crew was spilt to stabilize the car over the wall with the side mounted winch, while the remaining crew stabilized the car in the lower lot and controlled an oil leak. BHFD Units were assisted by Bedford PD, KBHVAC and WEMS. The victims were removed and transported to NWHC for evaluation.
