At 03:19 hours on Tuesday, August 18th, Bedford Hills Volunteers were dispatched to the Northbound lanes of Interstate 684 for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Units arrived on scene within minutes, locating a tractor with double trailers approximately 40' down an embankment, partially submerged in 4' of moving water. The occupant self extricated from the vehicle with non life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital by Katonah-Bedford Hills EMS. Fire units operated on scene for just over an hour, securing the vehicle, assisting NYSP with lighting and damage assessment. Bedford Hills units returned to service at 04:33 hours.
