| At 16:11hrs on Wednesday, Bedford Hills Fire was dispatched to assist the Somers Volunteer Fire Department with Tower Ladder 57 on the 10-75 (working fire) assignment in the Heritage Hills residential Complex.
Car 2031, Car 2032, and Tower Ladder 57 with 10 Bedford Hills Volunteer Firefighters responded on the run and arrived shortly behind first due SVFD units.
Immediately following the 10-75 “Working Fire Dispatch” a 2nd Alarm was requested by “Heritage Hills Command” which brought in additional mutual aid from both Westchester and Putnam Counties.
Upon arrival, members from BHFD were put to work by command assuming truck company responsibilities including VEIS and roof operations, preforming a trench cut of the exposure #2 keeping the heavy fire conditions contained to the original unit.
Sadly, one resident whom was the sole occupant of the unit was found deceased. We offer our sincere condolences to the family on this tragic loss.
