BEDFORD HILLS A Bedford Hills toddler who was struck by an elderly driver in a parking lot remains hospitalized in critical condition, as police continue to seek witnesses to the collision.
William McCray, a 76-year-old Mount Kisco man, struck 18-month-old Daniel Cruz after he ran from the Shoprite Supermarket in Bedford Hills at about 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
The toddler was flown by Statflight helicopter to the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, said Bedford police Lt. Robert Mazurak.

Police have already spoken with several witnesses to the incident and are looking for others to call them at 914-241-3111.
"This was not a hit-and-run type thing," Mazurak said. "This was a very unfortunate pedestrian incident, and we're looking at it very closely."
He said no charges have been pressed against the driver, but added, "it's still early in the investigation."
