During the past week, Bedford Hills Volunteers have responded to 16 Calls for Service. 6 Residential Alarm, 5 Mutual Aid Responses, 2 Commercial Alarms, 2 Inside Smoke Investigations and 1 Motor Vehicle Accident with Injuries.

Tonight FF Martin Bailey III, FF Francesco Figliuzzi and FF Eric Stitzer took part in the initial firefighter training graduation at the Westchester County Department of Emergency services in Valhalla. This training curriculum is required for all interior members. In 2015, the Bedford Hills Fire Department answered a total of 402 alarms. The Men and Women of the Bedford Hills Fire Department continue to answer alarms at all hours of the day, and in various conditions.

On Friday November 27th, BHFD was dispatched to I-684 at the Rest Area for a Tractor Trailer with a ruptured diesel tank. The damage to the tank was caused by a ladder that had fallen off a vehicle traveling on the highway.
BHFD companies arrived to find a large hole in the saddle tank with approximately 75 gallons of fuel already on the ground with the tank still leaking. Crews contained the spill ... (Full Story & Photos)
