BHFD was dispatched to the Saw Mill River Parkway at 22:28 for a MVA with injuries. While enroute, 60 Control advised of a possible car fire as well as passenger ejections. On Monday evening, September 22, 2014, the Bedford Hills Fire Department placed the new Engine 198 into service. The engine will be the first due engine out of the hydrant district. This new apparatus replaces the 1997 Pierce that served the residents of the Bedford Hills Fire district for over 17 years. Some of the features of the new Engine 198 include the following:
With the delivery of the new Engine 198 a 2014 Seagrave Marauder II in the coming weeks, our current Engine 198, a 1997 Pierce Lance will be retired from service and deemed surplus. Engine 198 has proudly served the residents of the Bedford Hills Fire District and beyond for 17 faithful years.

Some of the members of the E-198 Truck Committee traveled to the Seagrave factory in Clintonville, WI for the final inspection of our new Pumper. During the course of the trip, the committee reviewed the specifications to ensure that the apparatus was built as specified, conducted a road test and pump test.
