During Monday night training, BHFD members sharpened their skills utilizing 3 of our specialized tools, the Lukas Spreader, Combi-Tool and Cutter. Members worked in teams of 5 to transfer eggs from cone to cone as well as master "Extrication Jenga". On a night where the Bedford Hills Fire Department dedicated our march at the Annual Bedford Village Parade to Ex Chief Joseph Liburdi Jr and his wife Rita who tragically lost their lives in an automobile accident thirty-two year ago to the day of the Parade the Men and Women of BHFD took home our first Best Overall Trophy since 1995.
On Thursday July 28th, Bedford Hills FD was dispatched to McLain Street/S Bedford Road for a motor vehicle accident with reported extrication. First arriving units found 2 patients out of their vehicles with non life threatening injuries. The Bedford Hills Fire Department has recently taken delivery of the new Car 2033, a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe - Special Service Vehicle. The conversion was completed by Hudson Valley Fire Equipment.
