Busy Day Ends with Best Overall in South Salem

Wednesday August 9th proved to be a busy day for Bedford Hills Volunteers, members answered 5 calls for service and participated in the South Salem Annual Fireman's Parade.

The first call came in at 11:15, a dual response to the Fox Lane High School for a commercial fire alarm, Car 2032 and 2033 responded, while Engine 198 was cancelled enroute.

Department Drill focuses on Commercial Truck Company Operations

Last night, members conducted a Ladder Company Drill, focusing on Commercial Truck Company Operations.
Members took turns throwing 24',28' and 35 foot extension ladders, while also using the Aerial.

The Aerial was also used to review fire attack of a store front and how to properly position the Truck for such operation.

BHFD takes to the streets of the "Village"

On Friday July 28th, BHFD joined departments from the area to participate in the Bedford Village Annual Fireman's Parade. Bedford Hills volunteers had over 30 members in attendance, with members remaining to cover the District.

BHFD received trophies for "Best Engine" - for Engine 198 and "Best Regulation Uniform".

FF Clemmenson Graduates New York State Firefighter One Program

Tonight, Firefighter Donald Clemmenson took part in the initial firefighter training graduation at the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services in Valhalla. This training curriculum is required for all interior members. Engine Company 198 and the FAS Team respond on Chappaqua 3rd Alarm

MOUNT PLEASANT - A 3-alarm fire in a Chappaqua mansion Wednesday was caused by an electrical malfunction, Mount Pleasant police said.

The fire started around 4 p.m. and spread throughout the attic of 72 Leroy Road, Chappaqua Fire Chief Greg Bologna said.
