At 16:11 hours, BHFD was dispatched to I-684 (NB) in the area of Mile Marker 14.8 for a tree down on vehicles. Upon arrival, FD personnel secured the vehicles and assisted EMS. The roadway was shut down for approximately 45 minutes at the direction of the New York State Police until the New York State DOT could remove the tree and the debris from the roadway. The occupants of the vehicles were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Thankfully they suffered only minor inures, as the situation could have been much worse. A special shout out to a few heroic bystanders who sprang into action and helped remove the tree from the vehicle and extricate the occupants.`
